A Little about Beagle (Beagle Temperament)
The Beagle dog breed (also known as English Beagle) belongs to the hound family of dog breeds. Dog information to date claims the name Beagle originated from several sources. These sources include the Welsh word beag meaning small, the French word beguele meaning open throat (referring to the Beagles musical bark) and the German word begele meaning to scold.
The Beagle was bred primarily for hunting small game such as rabbit by foot rather than by horseback. This form of hunting in England became known as beagling, and is still a popular term use today. Their strong sense of smell and excellent temper make them a popular choice of hounds thought the world.
A typical Beagle height averages between 13 and 16 inches at the shoulder. They have a square shaped muzzle, rounded ears, slightly curved tail and rounded paws. They have a hard, sleek coat that is very weather resistant. The Beagles most common color is tricolor white, brown and black. Some combination’s of white, yellow, orange and red are also common
Beagle has a sensitive nature he is gentle, friendly, even-tempered and playful. He is kind and gentle with children. He can be distant with strangers until they really know each other or won him over. As having a highly developed nose! He will be wondering off after interesting things and smells. For this very reason, he needs to be securely fenced in or on a leash when he’s outdoors or he will miles away after a scent or smell and might get by a car or lost. He’s more interested in finding out where that fascinating smell comes from than obeying your commands! He also doesn’t make a good fogging companion because he stops every second to investigate every smell. He loves to play with you! He can be quite noisy: baying and barking.  He loves his food and will eat until he bursts if allowed to. He can be quite ingenious in coming up with ways to get to the food in the cupboard, in the bin or on the table! He loves digging in the dirt to pass his time. He craves lots of close physical contact, love and attention from his human family!
The Beagle although bred as a hunting dog, is a very social canine. As mention earlier! They are very active, cheerful and fun loving dogs that fit very well in a family environment. As with most pack animals the Beagle thrives on companionship with other pets (particularly other Beagles) and humans. They have a very even temperament and make a wonderful family dog.

It is important as with all dog breeds to get as much dog information as possible before deciding on which dog breed to adopt. However it is our opinion that the Beagle makes not only an excellent hunting dog but an excellent family dog as well.

When it comes to training! The Beagle is the most hardest to train of all dog breeds. He learns new commands slower than all other breeds. You will need to be extra patient when training him.
Beagle Shedding
The Beagle sheds a fair amount of hair. You’ll find hair stuck to everywhere to your couch, carpets, clothes and everything else in your home.
Grooming
The short coat of the beagle only requires an occasional brushing. But because he sheds you may find yourself brushing him once or twice a week to remove loose hair.

For some dog owners dog training can be a challenge, but knowing some tips and tricks will help you to train a dog Easley. As a dog owner you should set your mind in the right frame if you want to train your dog. This would prevent you from violating any dog rules, an act that could really detriment the dog’s interest on learning. Following the rules of training will also prevent you as the owner from doing the things that could harm your relationship with the dog. There are certain rules in training that must be followed including the following:

Give your dog a name.

First thing first, give your dog a name. You have to work to get the attention of your new dog, and you can do if you still call him by his name and get his attention to these names.

Stay focused

Incompletion of a task usually leads to confusion. Ensure to it that every time you give the dog a command, both of you will follow through it. Refrain from being distracted every time you give a command. Say you are asking your dog to sit. Once you give this command, be sure that both of you will see the end of it. Do not tug on the collar of your dog and stop halfway and be distracted. Always finish one command first then move on to the next. The dog should sit completely and not just bend his rear legs. If you do not make this happen, the dog will think that next time you give the command it would be okay for him not to complete the task or to ignore it completely. Always stay focused, this way, you would eliminate the possibility of confusion and maximize the obedience to a command.

Rewards and punishments

Many owners are anxious to let their dogs hear a string of praises or be rewarded with several cookies instead of one whenever a command is accomplished. On the other hand, a lot of owners give too many punishments on a single wrong thing that the dog did instead of punishing him just once. Both could adversely affect the training of the dog. Never over do the rewarding or punishing of the dog’s behavior. If you are using praises as reward, do not over praise the dog. Single “good boy” praise will do to recognize that you are in favor of what the dog has done. This should be said immediately after the command is accomplished. In the same way, a single pulling of the check cord will be enough if the dog did not follow your command. This would send him the signal that something is wrong. Overdosing the dog with either rewards or punishments will distract him from learning. He would only remember the praises or the punishments and not the thing he did or he did not do.

End with a positive note

For every training session, make it a point that the training will end with a positive praise. This would make the dog look forward to the next training since the last session fulfilled her need to please you. Also, ensure to it that the last command was accomplished correctly so that the dog is oriented properly to following commands.

Never lose your patience

Often when trainers don’t get the results they want, they get impatient with the dog. Then they do something really stupid that could spoil the training. Training should be an enjoyable experience for you and your dog. If it starts to make you lose your temper and your dog a lot more disobedient, you should try to assess your pitfalls.
